Day
8 of the 21Days In-service Course for the Librarians started with a wonderful
morning assembly by the Team Group A“Enlighters”. After assembly Regular
evaluation through quizziz was conducted.
First
Session started with the Planning and creation of Digital Library by Dr. Neeraj
kumar singh, Deputy Librarian, AC Joshi Library Punjab University, The Session
guided everyone. How to Design& create Digital Library and virtual Library.
Second
Session was conducted by the Course Training Associate Mr. R.K Upadhyay, ZIET
,Chandigarh on NCPCR And POCSO Act Which through light to the structure of
NCPCR ,tenure responsibilities and its jurisdiction also. Discussed in detail regarding
Acts and rights of children. And also discussed the role of teachers in this
regard.
Afternoon session was Educational
trip to Punjab university library it
gave golden chance to all participants
to visit a heritage library which was
inaugurated by Late prime minister Mr .Jawaharlal Nehru in 1963.The
Library has a collection of more than 8
lakhs printed books. It has also a rich collection of e- books, E-journals, and
database also Dr. Richa and Ms. Seema guided the participants to different
departments of the library. Explained the functions in detail. The very special
feature of the library is that it has a manuscript
division and also its own book binding
division. The book circulation is
through RFID Technology .In total the educational trip was very fruitful.
